WHAT ARE YOUR THREE HOBBIES?

Whenever I'm on Instagram, I always come across a specific post that several motivational pages I follow constantly talk about. It states, “a life hack is to find 3 hobbies; one to make money, one to keep you in shape and one to be creative”.

I then connected it to my hobbies which, for starters, running a small business by selling shoes. I am able to make it a hustle of mine, while also enjoying what I am doing. I sell a variety of shoes. Generic models that you can simply get at the mall, as well as shoes that are highly selective and hard to come by. I also have the opportunity to travel to several places by selling shoes. Typically, I go to a sneaker event called “Sneaker Con''. It's a buy, sell and trade event, particularly for shoes. This event is held across the country at several times a year. The most astonishing event was the “Sneaker Con” in Dallas, Texas. I went to this event along with my brother. My brother also buys, sells, and trades shoes, but rather he does it as a full time job. My brother literally is a professional in the reselling game, with the experience of doing it for more than 15 years. This time around, we left two weeks prior to the event in order to go on a road trip before we hit Dallas. During our road trip, we went to Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Saint Louis where I went inside the Gateway Arch. It was pretty cool experiencing that. I also went to Memphis where we went on a tour to see Elvis Presley's house, not exactly a typical home, but rather an enormous mansion. It was unreal, distinctively beautiful. We then went to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. On our last stop through the way home, we went to “Sneaker Con'' to sell our shoes, which turned out to be a success. It was like a business trip turned into a vacation. It gave me a thrill of excitement to look forward to the future and become a successful businessman.

My second hobby is keeping myself in shape. I don't enjoy going to the gym, because I find it boring. So instead, I play a sport called Airsoft with my friends at a local airsoft park near my home. Airsofting is the same concept as paintballing, except rather than getting paint on you, you get hit with a plastic ball. I typically go every weekend with my friends. It consists of running a lot but I don't get too worn out because we have fun doing it, running around looking for our enemy. You also have to be creative and instinctive on how to attack your enemy. This sport has a similar concept to what a swat team would be like, which I wanted to be when I was little.

My last hobby is to be creative, by using my imagination. I consistently attend the Cardboard challenge that is at Two Bit Circus. I go there to help people build what they imagine and give them advice on how to build it. I’m constantly meeting a lot of new people, which inspires my creative spark. These hobbies not only help me become a better version of myself , but teach me self discipline and motivation. Doing three hobbies a week makes me satisfied in my growth and brings me peace.
